The Telluride Film Festival has unveiled its official poster for the 2025 edition, created by none other than acclaimed graphic novelist and cartoonist Daniel Clowes. Known for cult classics like Ghost World and Eightball, Clowes brings his signature visual storytelling to the prestigious Colorado-based festival, which runs August 29–September 1.
The artwork marks a new chapter in the festival’s tradition of commissioning influential artists to interpret its spirit—past contributors include Ed Ruscha, Maira Kalman, and Julian Schnabel. Clowes, whose career spans award-winning comics, screenplays, and gallery retrospectives, described the project as “something unassailably positive and noble in these dystopic times.”
Festival director Julie Huntsinger praised Clowes for his “emotional, layered stories told through both image and language,” calling the poster “a rich and brilliant capsule” of his cinematic sensibility.
