On Tuesday, September 23rd, the Cassina Store Milano hosted an event titled “Investing in Sustainability: A Dialogue Between Design and Real Estate”, organized to mark the launch of the company’s fourth Sustainability Report. The discussion focused on real-world experiences and actionable strategies, underscoring how sustainability has evolved into a key strategic pillar—reshaping the very definition of value for clients, suppliers, and stakeholders alike.

The panel featured Luca Fuso, CEO of the Design Division at HAWORTH Lifestyle; Claudia Soravia, Head of Investment Division and Technical Director at YARD REAAS Group; Patricia Urquiola, architect, designer, and Cassina’s Art Director; and moderator Marco Capellini, CEO of Matrec and a leading expert in circular economy.

Throughout the conversation, participants highlighted that contemporary design, construction, and production must confront social and environmental responsibilities head-on. Ideas such as ESG and Circular Economy have progressed beyond mere buzzwords—they now represent fundamental principles essential to building a sustainable future, integrated from the earliest phases of every project.

From architecture to product design, these forward-looking approaches are already sparking meaningful change: investments, urban development, and design practices are taking on a vital role in generating long-term sustainable value that transcends functionality and aesthetics.
