Justice is about to get hilariously unhinged. Liam Neeson steps into the chaotic world of slapstick crime-fighting as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. in The Naked Gun, a modern reboot of the beloved comedy franchise. Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Saturday Night Live, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping) and produced by comedy heavyweight Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy), the film promises a fresh take on the absurd adventures of the Police Squad.
Neeson, known for his intense action roles, takes a comedic detour by following in his on-screen father’s footsteps—a nod to Leslie Nielsen’s iconic portrayal of Drebin in the original series. The ensemble cast includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, WWE’s Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston, making for a dynamic and delightfully unpredictable team.
With a tagline like “Justice has a new daddy,” the film embraces the ridiculous charm of its predecessors while updating it for a new generation.
The Naked Gun is shaping up to be a laugh-out-loud, action-packed homage to a comedy classic—one that’s unafraid to poke fun at everything in its path.
