Are you a creative teen in NYC with a passion for art and a desire to grow as an artist this summer? Look no further than In the Making, MoMA’s dynamic and free summer art program for high school students ages 15–18. Running from July 8 to August 14, 2025, this six-week hands-on studio course invites young artists to dive deep into the world of contemporary art while exploring the powerful theme of Building Community & Belonging.

Participants will join one of four exciting cohorts—Sculpture, Drawings & Prints, Photography & Moving Image, or Architecture & Design—all led by MoMA educators and practicing artists. From experimenting with new materials to collaborating on a collective artwork, students will gain access to the Museum’s extensive art collection and creative resources.

What makes this program special? Not only will teens work on independent art projects to build their portfolios, but they’ll also engage with working artists, attend exclusive studio visits, and take part in gallery and museum trips across the city. The experience will culminate in a student exhibition at MoMA's Cullman Education and Research Building—a chance to showcase your creativity to the public!

Best of all, MoMA covers everything: art supplies, MetroCards, snacks, and more. Just bring your passion and commitment—attendance is required for all three sessions per week.

Applications are open now and due by Friday, May 23, at 11:59 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to be part of an unforgettable summer experience that will shape your artistic journey.
