Colin Farrell to Receive Golden Icon Award at Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival has announced that Oscar-nominated actor Colin Farrell will be honored with the prestigious Golden Icon Award on September 27, 2025. Farrell will receive the accolade in recognition of his exceptional career and his acclaimed performance in Ballad of a Small Player, directed by Oscar-winner Edward Berger.

Known for his magnetic presence in films like In Bruges, The Lobster, The Batman, and The Banshees of Inisherin, Farrell will also host a Masterclass on September 28. This marks his first visit to Zurich, where he will present Ballad of a Small Player at its gala premiere. Based on Lawrence Osborne’s novel, the film follows a high-stakes gambler navigating peril and redemption in Macau.

With past recipients including Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, and Hugh Jackman, Farrell’s addition to the Golden Icon roster cements his place among cinema’s most celebrated talents.
