The Sundance Film Festival continues its commitment to diversity and equity in media with the return of its Press Inclusion Initiative (PII) for the 2026 edition. Applications officially opened today, August 1, inviting BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+, and disabled journalists to apply for unrestricted stipends and press credentials to cover the upcoming festival.

The 2026 Sundance Film Festival will take place January 22 to February 1 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, with an online selection of films streaming from January 29 to February 1. Through PII, Sundance aims to nurture a more inclusive press corps by reducing financial and structural barriers for underrepresented voices in film criticism and reporting.

Aspiring and seasoned journalists alike are encouraged to apply and take part in one of the most influential festivals in independent film.
